It was friendly, very cozy, clean, and in a very good location. Could not complain about anything, will be going back with friend's or family.
Central location and not too noisy with very easy access to the local shops.
A very cramped although free car-park. Not sure if there would be enough room for all requests if the hotel was full.
Pleasant staff very helpful would stay again
Parking not great but I did get in
Freindly staff and cosy atmosphere
The location....the fact that on the day of arrival my room was done first so I could get ready for the wedding I was going to. The young lady on duty was very pleasant and most helpful. All your staff are ameniable, and happy, despite the fact that you are understaffed, which puts pressure on the remaining staff.
The Bold is obviously understaffed. 15 minutes in a queue to by a coke at the bar as my room wasn't ready. The young lady in reception had to come down to help relieve the queue. My room.: I am aware it was a rush job that benefitted me, but the brush hadn't been used, and my toothrush glas was not clean. At breakfast my order was taken, and when it arrived it was wrong. The gentleman made me feel like I had done something wrong...then the young lady came and re checked my order, she too made me feel like I had done something wrong? Glad I was sharing as table with someone who heard the order go in. (Her order was also wrong). By the time my order came the bacon and sausages were cold. In the whole of the stay (apart from my arrival) there was no one in reception to answer querries. There is no pen with the guest book to voice opinions, and the the info desk was full of something sticky, and not cleaned for the 2 days I was there. I am only pointing these things out to help the hotel, I am a professional High Profile House Manager. I know I would want a higher standard from my staff.
quiet room even though it was on a busy street, good breakfast included in price and the triple room which is useful for 3 adults instead of needing two rooms, would definetly stay again
Location was good and the hotel felt welcoming with friendly helpful staff.
Our room (8) was a little tatty in that some of the borders on the wallpaper were peeling off and half of the ceiling spotlights were not working, To flush the toilet, we had to try several times to get the handle to work to actually flush the toilet. The car parking was very tight and although the notices said you needed a pass to park, we saw 2 cars taking up spaces without passes displayed. ALso the dividing lines need re-marking and perhaps a notice to ask people to park within the lines for the benefit of other visitors, displayed in a prominent place may help the low number of spaces for the size of the hotel. Our sausages at breakfast were undercooked.
Excellent choice of eating options, bar, carvery or restaurant. We opted for the restaurant. Excellent value for money, service and quality. Also very comfortable bed.
Noise all night from something that sounded like an extractor fan. Disturbing.
Friendly lady on reception when we arrived, who should of gone home half an hour ago but checked us in in a cheery manner anyway. Friendly lady taking our breakfast order. Was in room 14, bed was comfy.
We were in room 14 which has the kitchen fans just below the window, so if hot you wouldn't be able to have window open for noise etc. `the fans went off overnight, but they where back on very early in the morning. We believe this should be advised at time of booking so that if this was to bother you, you could request another room.
Excellent breakfast, good value, would recommennd
Limited parking, but plenty of on-street parking which is free out of business hours
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask for
The only thing that couldve been improved was that our door swip cards didnt work for most of 2 days but we did understand that this was a fault and not much couold be done on the weekend and the staff didnt mind having to come up continuosly to let us in on the master copy so it didnt bother us because of how nice they were
Very friendly staff , great food selection, ideal location
Visited by train on this occasion, would like to come back asap concerned about number of parking spaces.
The room was spacious, the food excellent- both the breakfast and the evening bar meals, and the price was very fair.unexpected evening entertainment in the bar on Thursday was first class. Staff were most courteous and friendly.
The so called (first floor)" Residents lounge" was simply an unused bedroom containing settee and tv- and two laundry presses that were used daily by housekeeping staff!! We felt that we were intruding on their space. The ground floor of the hotel was entirely given over to public areas for bar/ bar meals and the restaurant. The -again first floor- reception desk was rarely staffed, and general public could therefore enter the residents area without challenge.
The location is excellent. Breakfast excellent and bar food was good.
We had arranged on line and confirmed by telephone call for a small dog to be accommmodated. Our first impression of the hotel was disappointing because one of the reception staff questioned this fact in a very rude manner. She was anti the dog and even said 'I hope it doesnt bark all night'. Other staff were very accommodating. There were no instructions in the rooms on how to operate the TV. We assisted other guests in how to operate their TVs.
My 1 night stay at the Bold Hotel excellent. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
